Barbados

I have been on holiday for just over a week and am amazed at how many posts I need to catch up on, you've all been posting like mad in my absence!

Someone once said that other people's holidays, diets and children should be avoided as topics of conversation as they are boring to other people so I will now break all the rules. We have been to Barbados and what a lovely place, I just want to go back. Here is where we stayed and I can thoroughly recommend it http://www.mangobaybarbados.com/. It was all inclusive so after buffet breakfasts, three course lunches and dinners, afternoon tea and unlimited drinks I am now back on my diet. The food was superb and I tried so many new and lovely cocktails. The weather was hot (of course) and I just can't get warm since our return.

Enough of that, here are some pics.

We took the kids with us so here they are.

Hope I haven't bored you! I will try to catch up on leaving comments but we are in the middle of packing for our house move so life is a little busy right now.

Happy Easter to everyone.

  1. So that's where you were flying to, on that very windy day, I was wondering? What a great time you have had in that glorious sunshine, amd how nice to be back to freezing cold temperatures? I know what it is like to come home a few pounds heavier from these all inclusive deals, they certainly know how to encourage one to eat literally 24 hours a day! I hope you are having a lovely Easter weekend, maybe start the diet after you have eaten all your chocolate eggs. x

  7. Hi Ruth, maybe if I leave it long enough I'll change my mind and won't have to paint the sideboard. Although I love painted furniture I'm always a bit reluctant to paint anything as it's so much more work to undo. Oh well, we shall see!

  9. Thanks for your comment re. Coverack, the sculpture park. A bit grey compared to your fantastic holiday!
I remember reading your discovery of the link you had with Cowboys and Custard re Coverack some months ago! I used do go on holiday to Kennack Sands for many years as a child.
We stumbled upon the sculptures as we were walking the coast path. We were returning towards Coverack from the west, and had taken a slightly inland route, it is just to the west of Coverack. I did a Google search to see if I could find a link to send you, but found a link re it to my blog!!! You may have more success, but it is very informal, no entrance or charge, not sure re nearest road if you arrive by car. Definitely worth a visit when you're in the area. Do let me know if you do get there and tell me what you thought! I enjoy your blog and will keep visitng it.
    best wishes,
    Vanessa

  10. Good luck with the move btw, ours went OK in the end but it is very stressful! It's so difficult to know when to start packing isn't it? I suppose it's a little bit more concrete when you exchange contracts which I believe you are doing today aren't you? Hope that goes ok. :-)

  11. Yes, Terry Coventry is definitely the name of the sculptor - I immediately recognised it, but would not have been able to remember it without prompting! thank you. We stayed near St. Keverne and saw that sculpture as well.

I lived in Lymington before we moved to Cornwall. I loved it there, and I love it here, although it is completely different. Hope your house move is going well. I am also an avid Freecycler! Vanessa
