Crafty

I have been in a sewing mood today. It all started when I visited the local haberdasher's (now there's an old fashioned word). I treated myself to this book for 'Household Notes' as I liked the picture on the front.

I found this lovely edging when I was looking for something to put round the edge of a seat on a chair makeover I have been doing. I have bent a whole packet of upholstery nails so have decided to staple the fabric to the seat then use this to cover the staples.

This is what the chair looked like before. I have a pair and they will look perfect with my kitchen table.

I have also made a lampshade today

and a mangle cloth bag.

I haven't posted for a while. We went to Cornwall for the Easter weekend and I will leave you with a photo taken on Rock beach.

Such a beautiful beach scene!

I love what you've done with the chair, and the lampshade is gorgeous. That notebook would call to me as well I think!

Remember my Port Isaac post. I have some b&w photos of my parents in Rock, in the good old days. I hope you had a great time over the Easter period. The chair is just beautiful, as are all your makes. x

Gorgous beach photo.
The book looks lovely with the folded fabrics.
Your chair is beautiful, I love the colours you've chosen and the edging is just perfect.
Your lampshade and bag are very pretty, I would love to have a go at making a lampshade like that.

Lovely small taste of Cornwall... I haven't been for such a long time and was thinking about Coverack the other day and all the folk I used to know there.. I wonder where they are now!
Particularly lovely chair Ruth.. I love makeovers like this...
