Parcels in the Post

The last two days I have received more interesting post than the usual rubbish that goes straight into the recycling bin. Yesterday I received my winnings from Sue at Vintage to Victorian - a piece of beautiful Scheurer fabric. Sue has blogged about these fabrics which date from the 1870s to 1930s. The Scheurer company was a famous European textile printer from Mulhouse in Alsace, France. If you visit Sue's blog you will see a slideshow of many of these fabrics.

In my excitement to open the package I forgot to photograph it before I ripped it open but here it is, even more gorgeous in the flesh than in the photo.

Thankyou again Sue, I love it.

Today I received two books I had ordered. I love Margaret Forster's style of writing and haven't read this one of hers so am anxious to get started on it. I also received the Cabbages & Roses Vintage Crafts book with instructions on making things for the home. I can usually manage to work out how to sew something but, of course, it is much quicker to actually have the instructions there in front of you.

  1. Thank you for the kind comments that you left on my blog, very much appreciated. I can't remember where I found the picture of the little girl sewing but you are welcome to save her.

  2. Ooh pretty fabrics! The vintage crafts book sounds intriguing too.

Thanks a lot for your comment, you are right, she isn't perfect by any means! I wish I could avoid her altogether but unfortunately not only do we have mutual friends, but she is the mother of my daughter's best friend AND they go to preschool together. At least they start different schools in September!!!

    Have a wonderful Easter xxx

  5. Your fabric is lovely, do you have any plans for it?
I was wondering about reading something by Margaret Forster, I've heard she is good. I think I might try this title, it looks like it might be an interesting yarn.
Thanyou so much for your comments on my blog, particularly the one you wrote when I had that rotten blog. It really cheered me up hearing from my bloggy friends. I am so glad to be back.
