Lavender Girl

I fell in love with this statue when I first saw her at a garden show earlier in the year but didn't buy her so imagine my delight when I emailed the seller and found out she was still for sale! We bought her at the weekend and here she is in the dining room which is where she will live. The walls are white so I will paint an alcove a darker colour to show her off. She is gently weathered and has lichen growing on her which I love! One day she may move to the garden but for now I want her indoors!

If you are interested in similar items or any gardenalia do visit the seller's website at www.thevintagegardenco.co.uk as they have some lovely items at very reasonable prices.

  1. Your lavender lady is very pretty. Maybe you could place her in the garden where you can see her from the house? We were fortunate and inherited garden ornaments with our property. I am often tempted by vintage tools and clay pots! Thanks for the link. x

  2. Hi Ruth,
Your lavender girl is beautiful and deserves pride of place inside a newly painted alcove! I just love statues with lichen and mossy bits!
Thank you for your comment on my blog - yes, I do agree...the firescreen will remain with its dark wood frame!
    Have a great week,

  3. I love your lavender lady, I have a huge clump of lavender in my garden I think she would look nice in :o) In respnse to your comment on my blog, yes I do know Lee On Solent and funny enough it is where we brought our power kites that my husband was flying on Sunday! In a little kite shop on the sea front, not sure if it is still there now though. I was actually teying to work out where it was in Hants you lived as all the places you have blogged about are very familiar to me. My guess as to where you lived was actually Netley, due to the stoney beach in the picture. I never thought about Lee On Solent. That tale of your mouse made me laugh...who said animals are stupid!!!
