Hallway

I managed to finish painting the stairs in time for the new carpet and am very pleased with the result.

I also managed to finish the blind which I'm pleased matches it really well. Underneath the window I have placed an old cast iron bistro table with a marble top that my mother decided she no longer wanted and it looks really good there.

We had finished decorating the dining room but I felt it was a little dreary so I have been trying to introduce some red into the room. I painted this picture frame French Grey (my favourite F & B shade) and think it looks great with the toile de jouey. The bookcase also got a couple of coats of the paint.

  1. The carpet and blind look lovely, Roman blinds are so difficult to make and I have never attempted one!! The little table is gorgeous. I agree with your choice of F&B paint - lovely colour and works well with the Toile de Jouy.

  5. I adore the bookcase -the French Grey sets off the spines of the books wonderfully. I'm a complete newbie to reading blogs and blogging and it is now a constant source of wonder to me how many people are embracing vintage style. The bistro table is perfect for a vase of flowers! :-)

  6. Wow i think it all looks wonderful love the colours and you are quite right about introducing a bit of red...I do the same where I have these cool muted colours. The picture looks really good, love that colour too, but I must add I have slowly been moving over to The Little Green Paint Company, great colours a bit cheaper and really good to use. I am in the process of doing my hall and cannot make my mind up about the fitted carpet, whether to have it 'whipped' up the stairs to show off the lovely wood treads but the cost of the rails is making me think!
It all looks so lovely you must be pleased as punch.
