Distress to De-Stress

I love painting furniture and find it very calming and therapeutic. I particularly like distressing items and thought I would share with you some of my past efforts.
It all started with a kitchen roll holder.....

I then progressed to a wardrobe which I crackle glazed.

My next projects were a marble top washstand and a chair, both of which were intended to be sold on my website but I like them so much I have decided to keep them.

I got a bit carried away after I had re-upholstered this chair and covered an old office chair!

My next pieces to be painted are this chair which was covered in green dralon and a sewing box.

  1. I enjoyed seeing your projects! We just got an old office chair to recover for my craft area, so yours is particularly inspiring! :)
Be sure to stop by my blog, as I am having a spring giveaway this month!

  2. Hi, I was thinking of doing the same thing to my office chair, was it difficult to do? It looks really great. Love all the pieces you have renovated.

    best wishes Ginny

  3. Hi Ruth, What lovely things! I had a cupboard just like the one in your photo! I must admit to having taken the paintbrush to just about every piece of furniture we have - unless it was painted when I bought it! I think I have a few things left which still need a freshen up though! Clare x

  4. I have an office chair that I want to transform - it is great to know what it might look like if I do it (although mine probably won't look half as good). Thanks for sharing your photos!

  5. Hi Ruth

Love your office chair. Might just have to do ours!

I don't buy the Antiques and Collectables magazine so didn't realise about their forthcoming kitchenalia write-up. When does it come out?
